The Last Puppy

In every litter, there’s always a puppy who gets picked last. Sometimes most are reserved before the litter is even born, and the last pick is simply the last person on the list waiting to see who’s left. Other times, we have a few still available at 6 or 7 weeks, and when it comes down to that last puppy, I always get the same question: Why is he/she the last one? Is there a reason they’re still available?

And you know what my answer is, 100% of the time? No! Absolutely not. More often than not, for one reason or another, my favorite puppies get picked last—the ones I would’ve chosen first! People are always looking for different things, and there’s never a lesser puppy in the bunch.

To prove this point I feel so passionate about, I’m going to make a collage of “last picked” puppies.

This post is in honor of Dolce, who—in spite of garnering lots of interest—ended up being the last of the coffee puppies. Bless her heart. 🤎
